Our clothes giveaway on hot summer day !

Today was our free clothes giveaway and it was a success. It was a race against the heat.And luckily we had everything in the shade ! People from the community came by to pick up clothes and talk with us. There was a wide variety ranging from toddler to adult clothing. And we had to bring more out ! We hope it was a blessing to all who came by.

YAM and Crawfish equals trouble !

Today was our crawfish boil and let me tell you we ate till we could not eat any moe. That's right I said moe ! In addition to crawfish we had fried catfish, fries, shrimp fettucini, potatoe salad. Then pudding, fresh fruit, cake.Well you get the picture ! And somebody even brought out the space walk. A couple of the guys broke out into a game of basketball. Can you imagine grown men in nice dress shirts and square toe shoes playing b-ball, in the grass. We had men slamming and slipping everywhere. Angies backyard was turned into a picnic slash amusement park for the day. Everyone had their fill and filled up plates to take home. As usual we aim to feed armies !

Seniors Banquet 2008

Hard work and planning came to fruition at our Seniors Banquet on Saturday night. Members came dressed up for the occasion. They were treated to song, poetry , and words of encouragement. And not to mention food served to them by YAM ! Recognition and gifts were given out. This was an occasion that fostered teamwork, fellowship, and appreciation. Memories were made that will not soon be forgotten .

I was just doing a search this morning and came across this site www.cocgospel.com . The main focus of the site is A cappella music. There is an interesting video on there with Jack Evans Sr. talking about praise teams. Click on gospel tv. This site also serves as a gateway to other Church of Christ related sites and current events. Travel, singles, video, and a forum on the website that is mainly coc members. 4th Sunday Singing in Opelousas

Today we had a great family and friends day at Hollywood Church of Christ today.Every pew and some were full. After service someone came up to give their life to the lord and get baptized. Immediately after witnessing this everyone went to the fellowship hall to enjoy a good home cooked lunch.


After eating a few members decided to go out to Opelousas,La to participate in the 4th sunday singing. This was the first time many of us visited North Side Church of Christ. We came and joined in with singing. And saw some familiar faces. And yes, after the service we ate ! Thanks to sisters at the congregation for that meal. Here are a few pics for your viewing.

Recap of Fish fry and devotional.

On Jan 19 YAM got together for a fish fry and devotional.Special thanks to the Brown family for opening their home to us. Marvin and Corey took care of the food. Hot and fresh catfish came in handy for a cold January night . And of course we had to capture the moment with pics provided by Angie ! After a good meal we dived into our devotional. And boy was it powerful. People shared their thoughts and experiences in the discussion. We all laughed and gave one another encouragement. And we got an opportunity learn a bit more about the person we call " brother and sister ".
