New church directories came out yesterday. Everyone loved the way it came out !

Hollywood COC travels to Port Gibson, MS

Yesterday members from Hollywood St COC traveled to Port Gibson, Ms to visit the Central Church of Christ congregation. The occasion to was to support our minister as he kicked off a week long gospel meeting there for the congregation. Our group New Testament came along as well to bless the crowd with there voices.

Central COC is led by Bro.Eugene Carney. They are the only COC congregation in the county. It's about a 15 to 20 minute drive from Alcorn State University in Lorman, Ms. And a 50 minute drive to Vicksburg. So there is definitely opportunity there. We'll be giving them as much support as possible. And pray that the Gospel Meeting will be a success.

It's almost the holidays folks.

It's almost that time of the year when things start going to the wayside. Don't lose focus guys and don't wait till January to make those new resolutions ! Forgiveness, new strength and focus is not found on Jan 1. It's found in Jesus. Just ask him.

Celebrating with Bro.Angelo

In the next few weeks our Bro.Angelo will be graduating from Southern U and heading back LA. He's been with us for a few years now and we're sad to see him go. We will certainly miss his songleading. Some members from YAM got together tonight at BJ'S to give him a early celebration and send off. It's on his fav spots and yours truly should have took his suggestion on the fish tacos. Trust me they are good !

Seniors Banquet 2009 recap

This past saturday YAM hosted our 2nd Seniors Banquet at Hollywood St. Church of Christ. Black and white were the colors for this year. We had new faces participating with YAM and attending the banquet.

All there enjoyed the festivities. Of course this year the kitchen was a hotbox ! Leo and Angie were slinging out plates as fast as they could ! But the most slept on food that night was the crabcakes.

YAM Races for a Cure to Cancer

On March 7, 2009 YAM participated in the Susan Komen Race for The Cure. It was held in downtown Baton Rouge. The turnout for the event and from our group was great. It's a yearly event held in Baton Rouge and in other cities around the US. On the local news you would see folks walking and running. Many from the YAM group ran and reported back they feet almost fell off !

Next year we are looking for a even bigger turnout. A big shout out to Bro.& Sis. Lang for getting us involved. They took care of the shirts and registration for us. All we had to do was show up !

Hollywood COC Yam for 2009

Wow it's been sometime since I've posted here.My apologies. In the past few days we got together to plan for our next few events. And set the groundwork for some longterm planning. Lord willing we will be able to incorporate other churches in our plans.

A few minutes ago I emailed everyone the schedule for the next 5 months. I hope you guys print it up ! There will be more posts to come. So be looking.
